Private Blog Network – Arsenal is once again dealing with injury concerns during the international break. As they face the possibility of losing Bukayo Saka after he was unable to finish the match when England suffered a 2-1 defeat against Greece in the UEFA Nations League on Friday (October 11, 2024) early morning.
The September international window was already a tough period for the Gunners. With key players Martin Odegaard and Riccardo Calafiori both getting injur while representing their national teams.
Now, the North London club finds itself in a similar situation during the October break. Saka was forc off the pitch due to a thigh problem during England’s clash against Greece.

“Yes, he’s being assessed, but it’s clear that he felt something in his leg,” said Carsley.

Saka’s Withdrawal and England’s Struggle Against Greece
Saka was a key part of England’s attacking setup at Wembley, as Carsley decided not to bring in Ollie Watkins or Dominic Solanke to replace the absent Harry Kane.
Despite their efforts, England struggled against Greece and fell behind to a goal from Vangelis Pavlidis. Jude Bellingham managed to equalize, but Pavlidis struck again to secure a victory for the visitors.
The Impact of Saka’s Injury on Arsenal’s Lineup
Saka’s injury appears to be a hamstring issue, which could sideline him for several weeks. If the diagnosis is confirm, he might miss crucial upcoming fixtures, including matches against Bournemouth on October 19. Shakhtar Donetsk on October 22, and possibly the big clash against Liverpool on October 27.
With Fabio Vieira and Reiss Nelson both leaving Arsenal during the summer transfer window, the Gunners have limited options to replace Saka. The most likely alternatives are youngster Ethan Nwaneri or Chelsea loanee Raheem Sterling.
In addition to Saka’s injury, Kai Havertz and Thomas Partey also had to withdraw from their respective national teams due to fitness concerns. However, Arsenal remain hopeful that both players will be fit to return after the international break.
