SATUSEHAT App Mandatory for Travelers to Prevent Monkeypox

Private Blog Network – The Indonesian Ministry of Transportation has reinstated the requirement for the use of the SATUSEHAT app for international travelers. This decision follows the World Health Organization’s (WHO) declaration of Mpox (monkeypox) as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) on August 14, 2024. The requirement also aligns with the Health Minister’s directive to implement the SATUSEHAT Health Pass.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation at the Ministry of Transportation has issued Circular No. SE 5 DJPU of 2024. Which mandates the use of the SATUSEHAT Health Pass for international travelers starting from August 27, 2024.

“This circular serves as a guide for airlines and foreign air carriers to ensure that all international travelers flying to Indonesia. Including flight personnel and passengers, fill out the SATUSEHAT app Health Pass electronic self-declaration form. It also guides international airport operators in taking preventive measures against the spread of Mpox,” stated M. Kristi Endah Murni, Director General of Civil Aviation, on August 28 in Jakarta.

Measures for Airlines to Prevent Mpox Spread

To prevent the spread of Mpox in Indonesia. Kristi has instruct airlines and foreign air carriers operating flights to and from Indonesia to take the following actions:

1. Promote the Use of SATUSEHAT: Inform all international travelers, including flight personnel and passengers. To complete the SATUSEHAT Health Pass electronic self-declaration form, available at https://sshp.kemkes.go.id.
2. Form Completion at Departure Airports: Ensure that the SATUSEHAT Health Pass is filled out by travelers at the airport of departure.
3. Coordinate with Health Quarantine: Work with the Health Quarantine Authority if there are any issues in filling out the SATUSEHAT Health Pass at the arrival airport.
4. Prevention Efforts: Collaborate with the Health Quarantine Authority in efforts to prevent Mpox transmission in Indonesia.

Guidelines for International Airports

International airport operators in Indonesia have been advised to take the following steps:

1. Coordinate with Health Quarantine: Work closely with the Health Quarantine Authority to prevent the spread of Mpox at airports.
2. Handle Suspected Cases: Assist in managing passengers suspected of carrying Mpox upon arrival at the airport.

“I have instructed the Director of Aviation Security and the Heads of Airport Authorities to oversee the enforcement of this circular. All parties must ensure full compliance with these measures,” said Kristi.
